Fees change often
Gift marketplaces compete with “0%” promos. Portals charged 2.5% in June 2025, 0% in May 2026 and 2% again from July 10, 2026 (Portals channel). Getgems moved to 2% the same day, while Tonnel cut its fee to 0%. MRKT, which promised “0%, always” in November 2025, now charges 2% as well. A fee table goes stale fast; the reliable number is the final price at checkout, and Bubble shows that across all venues at once.
Why prices differ between venues
- Liquidity. Sellers list where they're used to, so floors differ.
- Fees. Sellers bake each venue's fee into the price.
- On-chain vs off-chain. Gifts held on-chain and gifts held on marketplace balances are different markets.
- Speed. Good listings go in minutes, and nobody can watch every venue by hand.
How to choose a venue
- Net proceeds: sale fee, withdrawal fee and settlement currency.
- Liquidity: listings and trades in your collection.
- Custody: off-chain venues hold your gift on their account. In February 2026 a wave of fraudulent Stars refunds made the largest off-chain markets pause trading; on-chain gifts were not affected.
- Features: orders, offers, auctions or swaps.

What fees does Bubble charge?
Bubble is free to use, and purchases from other marketplaces (MRKT, Portals, Tonnel, Getgems, etc.) carry a 0% Bubble fee: you pay the listing price, which already includes that venue's own fees. Bubble does charge fees on its own marketplace, orders and offers, Lucky Buy, swap top-ups and gift withdrawals — always shown before you confirm. Gift-for-gift swaps without a top-up are free.
