Telegram Gifts: the complete guide to collectible gifts

Updated: · Bubble team

Telegram gifts are digital gifts bought with Telegram Stars and sent to other users. A regular gift can be upgraded into a unique collectible with its own serial number, model, backdrop and symbol. Collectible gifts can be transferred, sold, swapped and turned into NFTs on the TON blockchain, and a whole market with marketplaces, orders and auctions has grown around them.

TL;DR
  • Regular gifts are bought with Stars and shown on the recipient's profile.
  • An upgrade makes a gift unique: a serial number plus a random model, backdrop and symbol, each with its own rarity.
  • Collectible gifts trade on Telegram's built-in market and on marketplaces (MRKT, Portals, Tonnel, Getgems and more), usually priced in GRAM, formerly Toncoin.
  • A gift can become a TON NFT and come back. On Bubble that takes ~1–1.5 minutes each way.
  • The easiest way to compare prices across all venues is the Bubble aggregator.

What Telegram gifts are

Gifts arrived in Telegram in October 2024. You pick one from the catalog, pay with Telegram Stars and send it, and it appears on the recipient's profile. The recipient can keep it or, within a limited window, convert it into Stars (the gift disappears and returns fewer Stars than it cost). Some gifts are limited editions: once sold out, they can only be bought from other users. Gifts can be pinned on your profile (since March 2025) and grouped into collections (since July 2025).

Marketplaces and Bubble only work with upgraded gifts. Under Bubble's terms, for example, regular (non-upgraded) gifts are not credited as tradable items, and if you send one it is neither paid for nor returned.

You pay for an upgrade in Stars. At launch in January 2025 it cost 25 Stars, which Pavel Durov said goes to TON blockchain fees. Today each gift type has its own upgrade price, which has gradually decreased over time since October 2025. Since late August 2025 you can also pay for someone else's upgrade, which makes upgrading free for them, and Telegram shows an approximate resale value for gifts.

Model, backdrop, symbol and rarity

Rarity is the share of a collection that has a given trait. In large collections models typically sit at 0.2–4%, backdrops at 1–2% and symbols at 0.2–1.5%. Crafting added tier labels: Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary. A gift's price starts from the collection floor (the cheapest listing) plus a premium for a rare model, backdrop, symbol and a nice serial number. Bubble's estimate accounts for the model + backdrop combination, not just the model.

What you can do with gifts

Where gifts are bought and sold

Telegram has a built-in market for collectible gifts: Stars trading since May 2025, later GRAM as well. Per Telegram's API config, sellers receive 80% of a Stars price or 90% of a GRAM price, and these terms may change. New gifts have sold through multi-round auctions since November 2025, and purchase offers lasting 6–72 hours arrived in December 2025. Independent marketplaces include MRKT, Portals, Tonnel, Getgems, Fragment, Palace, Harbor, Pixel and others; see the marketplace comparison. Because the same gift is often priced differently across venues, aggregators appeared. Bubble shows listings from all of them in one feed, charges 0% on purchases from other marketplaces and adds orders, offers, swaps and alerts. Step by step: how to buy and sell gifts.

Gifts on TON: NFTs and GRAM

Since January 2025 collectible gifts can be moved to the blockchain as NFTs on TON. The official route goes through Fragment. You need your two-step verification password and a TON wallet, and Fragment may ask for identity verification (KYC). Since October 2026 (Telegram 13.1) you can also move a gift to your own TON wallet right from the send screen, without Fragment. Gift NFTs carry a 5% on-chain royalty on resales. On Bubble, gift ↔ NFT conversion is one action on the gift card and takes about 1–1.5 minutes each way.

On-chain prices are in TON's native coin. On June 15, 2026 it was renamed from Toncoin (TON) to Gram (GRAM). The name, ticker and logo changed, the blockchain is still called TON and balances stayed the same. Sites asking you to “migrate TON to GRAM” are scams.

FAQ

What are Telegram gifts?

Telegram gifts are digital gifts you can send to anyone in Telegram for Telegram Stars. Many gifts can be upgraded into unique collectibles with their own number, model, backdrop and symbol — those can be transferred, resold and withdrawn as NFTs on the TON blockchain.

How do I know what a gift is worth?

Start from the collection floor (the cheapest listing) and compare gifts with the same model and backdrop — rare combinations trade higher. Bubble's estimate accounts for model and backdrop and shows collection stats, with prices from all venues in one feed.
